Andrew Norman Wilson: KODAK & other works

Presented by The Photographers’ Gallery

Los Angeles based artist Andrew Norman Wilson presents KODAK, his most recent video work, in dialogue with current exhibition All I Know Is What’s On The Internet.

KODAK articulates the will to accumulate and preserve things across time - people, objects, technologies, images, memories - how these things consolidate and disperse, are materialized and then digitized, and come into light and then cease to be visible.

The narrative is told entirely from a blind person’s point of view with both sounds and images, from photographic archives to digital compositions, remembered, imagined or fantasised by Rich, the protagonist.

The event also features Wilson’s 2011 short Workers Leaving the GooglePlex, documenting the mysterious yellow badged “ScanOps” Google workers in Silicon Valley, which simultaneously led to his own dismissal from the company. The reference to the Lumière Brother’s 1895 film Workers Leaving the Factory situates the video within both the history of Regent Street Cinema and motion pictures more broadly.

Ticket price includes entrance to All I Know Is What’s On The Internet at any time before the exhibition closes.  Please retain your ticket to gain admission to the gallery before 24 February.
