June is Pride Month around the world and 2019 marks 50 years since the Stonewall Riots.
Celebrate with the launch of the first book by author and activist Shaun Dellenty Celebrating Difference -A Whole School Approach to LGBT+ Inclusion followed by a screening of the celebrated film Pride.
Celebrating Difference is an inspiring new book from Bloomsbury Education aimed at teachers, learning communities and anyone with a vested interest in the well-being of young people in all their natural diversity.
Written by Shaun Dellenty, internationally celebrated and award-winning lead in LGBT+ inclusion in education, it is filled with practical advice to enable schools to bring about organisational change to ensure the safety, success and wellbeing of all pupils and staff. In addition, the earlier chapters candidly and very movingly describe Shaun’s challenging journey as a survivor the sustained childhood homophobic bullying and rejection that very nearly cost him his life.
At this event Shaun will first deliver a talk and book reading about his life and work and a Q+A will be held.
This will be followed by a screening of the film Pride in the auditorium and a book signing in the bar area. Books will be available to purchase on the night from Bloomsbury (card payments only) and Shaun will be on hand to sign books.
